OpenZeppelin Completes Auki Labs Smart Contract Audit for the Posemesh

Auki Labs is developing the posemesh protocol, aiming to create a universal spatial computing platform for the next 100 billion people, devices, and AI.

It is essential that the posemesh becomes a decentralized protocol in service of humanity for the coming disruptive era of spatial computing. However, the path to building a fully functioning, secure protocol is filled with complexities and many unknowns.

Auki Labs and The Posemesh Foundation are committed to building in public to maintain transparency and trust with the community.

With the launch of the posemesh token economy fast approaching, ensuring every aspect of the protocol is secure, robust, and reliable is crucial. To achieve this, we've undertaken our first audit, collaborating with OpenZeppelin, a leader in smart contract security. Smart contract audits help to reduce any potential vulnerabilities in a contract’s code and decrease the likelihood of security breaches by attackers.

Open Zeppelin Smart Contract Audit Report

The OpenZeppelin Audit Report outlines the essential findings and recommendations for our smart contract architecture, security, and functionality. In the interest of transparency and compliance, we are sharing the findings of this audit with you, the posemesh community.

OpenZeppelin Audit Conclusion

OpenZeppelin correctly points out that we have a great deal of centralized control over the protocol in its current shape. We agree with that assessment and will continue to work towards a flourishing protocol with progressive decentralization.

This first audit revealed a few medium-severity issues, such as the paused token contract not pausing allowance changes and the unsafe use of DEFAULT_ADMIN_ROLE. Additionally, low-severity issues and notes were addressed, including suggestions for naming conventions and gas optimization.

We are dedicated to ensuring that the posemesh protocol is not only robust and trustworthy but also serves as a reliable and critical privacy-preserving element in the future infrastructure of the internet.

The posemesh protocol’s journey toward full decentralization is not just a process but a public commitment marked by ongoing community engagement and feedback. In line with this commitment, we recently announced the upcoming open sourcing of Hagall, the decentralized networking infrastructure of the posemesh. We hope that sharing audits of the posemesh protocol will further demonstrate our commitment to transparency and our ‘build in public’ approach.

As we progress, the focus remains on increasing decentralization and enhancing the protocol's resilience. The insights gained from the OpenZeppelin audit lay the foundation for the posemesh protocol’s continuous improvement. We are not just building a protocol - we are cultivating a community's trust and forging a path toward a secure, decentralized future.

Stay tuned for further updates as we progress in developing and decentralizing the posemesh protocol, building in public, and upholding our commitment to compliance, transparency, and community engagement.

About Auki

Auki is making the physical world accessible to AI by building the real world web: away for robots and digital devices like smart glasses and phones to browse, navigate, and search physical locations.

70% of the world economy is still tied to physical locations and labor, so making the physical world accessible to AI represents a 3X increase in the TAM of AI in general. Auki's goal is to become the decentralized nervous system of AI in the physical world, providing collaborative spatial reasoning for the next 100bn devices on Earth and beyond.
