Auki community update recap: Jan 31, 2025

Teaming up with Silencio, and the robotics landscape in China

Key Announcements

New Partnership with Silencio

This week, we announced a new research partnership with Silencio, one of the largest communities building on the peaq network. Silencio specializes in crowdsourced noise pollution measurements, and through our collaboration, we'll explore using the posemesh protocol to significantly improve the accuracy of their data. This will potentially enable centimeter-level noise measurements within indoor venues, allowing detailed insights like pinpointing noise levels at specific restaurant tables or hotel rooms. Silencio is also interested in expanding beyond noise data, exploring other environmental sensors in collaboration with the Auki Network.

We warmly welcome members of the Silencio community and look forward to sharing updates as our joint research progresses.

Community Events and Engagement

Our COO Santeri spoke at the private United Founders event in Bali, an engaging conversation focused on spatial computing and the Posemesh protocol. This event brought together technical founders and entrepreneurs, providing insights into real-world applications and opportunities within our ecosystem.

Additionally, a Twitter Space event hosted by the vVv community covered in-depth discussions on Chinese robotics and AI advancements. The full conversation is available online and highly recommended for those interested in understanding the current robotics landscape.

Robotics and AI Developments

This Chinese New Year featured significant showcases from China's robotics industry. State television highlighted dozens of Unitree H1 humanoid robots performing choreographed dances. These robots are commercially available, reflecting China's robust robotics capability compared to Western counterparts. While the West remains early in their commercialization stages, China's robotics industry continues to demonstrate notable leadership.

At Auki, we discussed the distinctions between regular AI, agentic AI, and the emerging concept of "physical AI." Physical AI integrates reasoning capabilities, spatial awareness, and an understanding of physics—essential elements for general-purpose robots capable of practical tasks, from simple item retrievals to complex interactions like making coffee. This continues to be a critical focus for our network.

Product and Ecosystem Growth

Our own robotics development efforts include a wheeled "camera tower" robot for retail environments. This robot is designed to autonomously scan retail aisles at night, documenting inventory conditions to enhance store operations significantly. We've recently secured a Letter of Intent (LOI) for this innovative robotic solution from a retail client.

We're also actively supporting ecosystem projects through connections with investors and providing strategic assistance. Developers and entrepreneurs interested in building on the Auki network are encouraged to reach out for potential collaboration and support.

Community Participation

We're inviting community suggestions for naming our new robotic integrations—an engaging and playful opportunity for our community members. Additionally, Auki merchandise remains popular, with new limited-edition items expected soon at our official store.

Final Thoughts

As we enter this exciting new year, we encourage community members to enhance their personal agency, proactively embracing roles in shaping the future alongside the inevitable rise of robotics and AI.

About Auki Labs

Auki is building the Auki network, a decentralized machine perception network for the next 100 billion people, devices and AI on Earth and beyond. The Auki network is a posemesh, an external and collaborative sense of space that machines and AI can use to understand the physical world.

Our mission is to improve civilization’s intercognitive capacity; our ability to think, experience and solve problems together with each other and AI. The greatest way to extend human reach is to collaborate with others. We are building consciousness-expanding technology to reduce the friction of communication and bridge minds.

About the Auki network

The Auki network is a posemesh: a decentralized machine perception network and collaborative spatial computing protocol, designed to allow digital devices to securely and privately exchange spatial data and computing power to form a shared understanding of the physical world.

The Auki network is an open-source protocol that powers a decentralized, blockchain-based spatial computing network. Designed for a future where spatial computing is both collaborative and privacy-preserving, it limits any organization's surveillance capabilities and encourages sovereign ownership of private maps of personal and public spaces.

The decentralization also offers a competitive advantage, especially in shared spatial computing sessions, AR for example, where low latency is crucial.
