Robots, Accessibility, and Building for AI

We're fresh from an exciting week at ETH Denver, brimming with meaningful connections, partnerships, and a clearer vision for the future. Here's everything that happened this week!

ETH Denver Highlights

We attended ETH Denver for the first time, and it was incredibly productive. Unlike many conferences, ETH Denver was action-oriented—direct discussions about collaborations, partnerships, and future plans dominated the week.

"Conferences in America are very results-oriented. You immediately get pulled into conversations: How are we going to do this? How does it work? What does it cost?" Nils noted.

Major Robotics Milestones

It was a big week for robotics at Auki. For the first time, our humanoid robot from Unitree, Terri MechKenna, successfully navigated autonomously using an integrated map rather than remote control—a huge milestone for practical robotic autonomy. We also successfully tested voice commands for robot movements, paving the way toward full semantic mapping integration.

Additionally, global robotics manufacturers have been actively reaching out, sending us hardware to integrate with our posemesh system:

"It’s starting to look like we’ll receive maybe half a million dollars worth of free robots by year-end," Nils shared. "These robotic companies are discovering us mainly on LinkedIn, looking to connect their hardware to the posemesh."

Accessibility and Electric Wheelchairs

A moving encounter with Stephen Chavez, a quadriplegic hacker who customized his electric wheelchair to autonomously follow his phone, has inspired us deeply. Recognizing the enormous potential to enhance accessibility, we're actively exploring integrating electric wheelchairs with the posemesh:

"Why wouldn't you want your electric wheelchair to autonomously navigate spaces, freeing you to communicate and interact more naturally? It’s an obvious win for humanity."

We’re now actively researching how to implement this integration by June, aiming for a significant demonstration at upcoming conferences.

Strategic Partnerships

We’re heading to LA and San Francisco next week for strategic meetings, including with Geodnet. We're recording a podcast with Geodnet CEO Mike Horton, clearly outlining our shared vision and distinct technologies:

"Our goal is to clearly explain the differences and synergies between Auki’s VPS technology and Geodnet's RTK positioning," emphasized Nils.

We're also supporting Mentra, creators of the open-source smart glasses operating system AugmentOS. Their promising demo at YC attracted immediate investor attention, underscoring their potential as a key partner for Auki’s spatial computing ambitions.

Tokenomics and Industry Growth

Discussions with investors at ETH Denver emphasized increased understanding and excitement about decentralized visual positioning systems. Robotics is emerging as the next major narrative for crypto adoption:

"Bull runs happen when normies get excited—and they're paying attention now," Nils remarked. "Robotics and crypto could become the next big narrative."

We're strategically enhancing token utility, aligning usage-based burns with real-world spatial computing applications.

Community and Engagement

We’re proud to have presented at ETH Denver’s People's Choice Stage, delivering a concise and impactful overview of our vision. Community engagement continues growing, with our Discord recognized as highly active among Web3 communities.

About Auki

Auki is making the physical world accessible to AI by building the real world web: away for robots and digital devices like smart glasses and phones to browse, navigate, and search physical locations.

70% of the world economy is still tied to physical locations and labor, so making the physical world accessible to AI represents a 3X increase in the TAM of AI in general. Auki's goal is to become the decentralized nervous system of AI in the physical world, providing collaborative spatial reasoning for the next 100bn devices on Earth and beyond.
