Auki community update recap: Jun 15, 2025

From AWE Success to SuperAI Singapore

Our team is wrapping up a fruitful visit to the US and heading to Singapore for the SuperAI conference. Here's what we've been up to and what's next for Auki.

AWE 2025 Highlights and Awards

We recently exhibited at AWE, the world's largest AR and VR conference in Long Beach, alongside industry giants like Snap, Xreal, and Niantic. Our booth, shared with our partners at Mentra, showcased cutting-edge demos including spatial awareness for smart glasses, robotics integrated with the Auki Network, and highly anticipated features such as app-free navigation.

We're especially proud to announce that we won two Auggie Awards:

  • Best Enterprise Solution
  • Best Web3 Implementation

We met numerous new partners, developers joining our ecosystem, and received applications for grants that promise exciting developments and further token burns.

Talks and Panels: Sharing Our Vision

At AWE, Nils and Terri delivered a keynote titled The Great Reversal, highlighting a crucial shift where digital entities—AI and robots—are entering the physical world, rather than humans escaping into digital worlds. If you missed it, it's a great summary of our foundational thesis.

At SuperAI in Singapore, we’ll explore further the potential of Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (DePIN). We believe DePIN will serve as the decentralized nervous system for AI in the future.

Additionally, Nils will moderate an insightful panel featuring leading robotics innovators from Unitree and Persona AI, discussing the challenges and paths to bringing humanoid robots to market.

Expanding Implementations and Burns

We continue expanding, notably in Singapore, where a new chain of retail stores is now integrating with Auki technology, leading to further token burns. Expect frequent updates on this front as our ecosystem continues to grow.

Joint Office Plans in San Francisco

Given our close collaboration with Mentra, we're actively discussing establishing a joint office in San Francisco. This strategic location will support ongoing efforts to embed spatial awareness at the OS level in smart glasses, a significant step toward broader industry adoption. We also had encouraging conversations with another major OS provider at AWE—stay tuned for possible developments next year.

Open Source and the Future of Spatial Computing Regulation

One reason we're committed to open-source standards like the posemesh protocol is the inevitability of future regulations governing spatial computing and camera use. Examples already exist, like Japan requiring smartphones to audibly indicate when photos are taken to prevent covert photography.

We foresee regulations extending to mandatory consent-based filming zones—schools, military bases, and cinemas. Auki aims to provide the standards and infrastructure needed to make these regulations practical and enforceable at the OS level, ensuring user privacy and security.

Looking Forward to SuperAI

Our immediate focus is SuperAI, where we'll showcase innovations that impressed at AWE, including interoperable robotics and ultra-lightweight smart glasses with spatial awareness. Our aim is to deepen industry connections, meet new potential partners, and solidify our position as leaders in decentralized spatial computing infrastructure.

Stay tuned—we'll share more exciting news following SuperAI!

About Auki Labs

Auki is building the Auki network, a decentralized machine perception network for the next 100 billion people, devices and AI on Earth and beyond. The Auki network is a posemesh, an external and collaborative sense of space that machines and AI can use to understand the physical world.

Our mission is to improve civilization’s intercognitive capacity; our ability to think, experience and solve problems together with each other and AI. The greatest way to extend human reach is to collaborate with others. We are building consciousness-expanding technology to reduce the friction of communication and bridge minds.

About the Auki network

The Auki network is a posemesh: a decentralized machine perception network and collaborative spatial computing protocol, designed to allow digital devices to securely and privately exchange spatial data and computing power to form a shared understanding of the physical world.

The Auki network is an open-source protocol that powers a decentralized, blockchain-based spatial computing network. Designed for a future where spatial computing is both collaborative and privacy-preserving, it limits any organization's surveillance capabilities and encourages sovereign ownership of private maps of personal and public spaces.

The decentralization also offers a competitive advantage, especially in shared spatial computing sessions, AR for example, where low latency is crucial.
